In the past, Looney Labs has sometimes published fan-designed
pyramid games. The "Playing with Pyramids" book has some, some
were published in the "Hypothermia" newletter, and a few were
published on catalogs, fliers, and other Looney Labs documents.
Publication in "Hypothermia" was considered the prize for
winning the first IGDC or two, while the newsletter was still
available.
I think you'll agree that publication by Looney Labs lends a
game a certain "official" status, and should disqualify a game
from competition, but it is confusing now that no IGDC games
are being published that way.
