How old are the kids?  Would Homeworlds be beyond them?

Treehouse is an obvious one.  IceTowers, Martian Chess, Cracked Ice, 
Martian Mud Wrestling; all are relatively easy to learn.  Pylon and 
Penguin Soccer (and maybe Zamboni Wars?) from the current IGDC are also 
pretty simple to teach.
