That is where I got the name stasis, M:TG! Thanks for reminding me!

Also on a magic note... What are your opinions about cards that can be 
played on another players turn (instants?) and do you have any suggestions 
as to what some good cards are?

Play this card only when another action card is being played.
That action card does nothing and is discarded, but still counts as a play.
