[Edu] RE: Looney for Learning

I've been working the past couple evenings late at night when I couldn't
sleep on the curriculum for my class this fall. I actually have drawn up
some interesting maps of skills in relation to games (several LL games) as
well as how the class could address different activities. I'll be happy to
share the files with anyone who is interested and might have some additional
insight into some skills the games could address. The only issue is the
files are in a format that needs to be read by a program called FreeMind.

The good news is the program is completely free and has become my most
recent love. I'm obsessed with using the thing to imagine any creative
projects (probably because I'm such a visual person).

Right now I have Fluxx branching off to: Rapid response to shifting
circumstances, adaptability, and planning for multiple end goals. Treehouse
I have branching off to: multiple win conditions, reacting to and planning
for luck, planning with very limited options, situational awareness (eg. not
giving the win away).

My map obviously covers several more games like Zendo, Werewolf, and
Nanofictionary. I do think if I learn Chrononauts, Martian Coasters, and
some others they will join the map.

Either way, I recommend the free software for brainstorming and organizing
information and I also offer my maps, incomplete as they may be, to anyone
who wants to see them.
