[Eco] Take the BYOB Pledge, Score a Bike and a Glacier

This is a fantastic idea! I do it already & don't get near as many "you
brought your own bags?" comments & looks of disbelief as I used to. There's
a grocery store called Aldi's that doesn't provide bags so you bring your
own or buy them there. I leave a few in my truck so they're always there
when I need them. I think we all have giant stashes of plastic bags, so
let's not let them grow any bigger! Kudos to you for "doing your part"!

Dedicated New Dreamer, a Climate Conscious $5000 Prize Package is in the Bag

[image: Carbon Conscious Consumer logo] <http://c3.newdream.org>Ready for
the sixth C3 action? *Pledge today to "Bring Your Own Bag" and pass the word
along* <http://c3.newdream.org>. Do so and you could win a *$5000 Live,
Learn, and Experience Climate Change Prize* from Brighter Planet, which
includes a commuter bike and a trip for two to gorgeous (but rapidly
melting) Glacier National Park, or one of 27 other great prizes.

*Take the pledge at http://c3.newdream.org*

(yes, even if you took other C3 pledges, you need to take this pledge to be
eligible for December's prizes)

Virtually everything we consume requires an energy input and unleashes a
climate impact. Everything. That includes all the products we buy as well
as all the bags in which we haul all that stuff home. So make it a habit to
always bring a few reusable bags to the store and consider the climate
impact of every purchase. If every American who is asked 'paper or plastic?'
responds with 'no thanks,' we'll *cut more than a billion pounds of
CO2*this month -- that's the equivalent of taking
1.3 million cars off the road!

C3 is as simple as 1-2-3:

*1. Take the pledge <http://c3.newdream.org>* to bring your own bag at
http://c3.newdream.org

*2. Invite friends* <http://c3.newdream.org> to join in the carbon-cutting.
Use our tell-a-friend tool after you pledge, then get creative. For ideas,
check out our online promotion kit at http://c3.newdream.org/more/kit.php

*3. Email us* <outreach at newdream.org?subject=C3+Promotion+Idea> with your
creative idea for inspiring others (50 words or less please).

*Can't find any good reusable bags?* Well, you're in luck. *STAY VOCAL* will
make a donation to New American Dream for each reusable bag purchased
through their online store, while *ReusableBags.com* is offering a 20
percent discount to anyone who takes the December C3
pledge.<http://c3.newdream.org>Get started now at
http://c3.newdream.org.

Thanks for all you do to establish daily habits that cut carbon and thanks
for showing the world that big changes can start with small steps!

Take care and good luck,
New American Dream's C3 Team *

P.S. Stay tuned for the winners of November's contest *
